The finals of the Men’s, Ladies and Mixed singles finals have been held at Barmouth Bowing Club, and spectators were ‘at the edge of their seats’.

The games were played on Saturday, 5 September.

The Men’s singles finalists and mixed singles finalists were Charles Martin and Andy Norton. The first game they played was for the mixed singles title. Andy put up a good fight but Charles led from the start with winning by a good margin.

The ladies singles finalists were Pauline Owen and Christine Palmer. Pauline started off well with Christine playing some good shots and at the half way point she was just two shots behind. However, Pauline went on to stay in the lead and win the competition, and retain the Ladies Singles title.

The last match played was for the Men’s singles title. This was a very close match from the onset with both men playing excellent shots considering they had only just played 18 ends in the previous final. Spectators were on the edge of their seats enjoying every minute, on the penultimate end the scores were equal but Charles went on to win the final end by one point and taking the title.

There followed congratulations and presentation of trophies by the Club Chairman, Pam Payton.

A lovely afternoon tea was then served for everyone in the club house. A thoroughly good afternoon for finalists and spectators alike.
