Complaints have been raised over the dumping of recycling bins in a disabled parking bay on a Dolgellau estate.
According to one resident, the blue bins, supplied by Gwynedd Council, are not being regularly emptied at Gwern Helyg and have begun to block the disabled parking bay on the estate, as well as a public path.
This blockage is said to be causing problems, particularly for those who are elderly or disabled.
Chris Redman, a resident of Gwern Helyg, said: “I am at the end of my tether. I have lived here for 53 years and have never seen the street in such a state in my life.”
According to Chris, the recycling bins have been building up over some weeks, spreading out “all over the estate behind all the houses”.
Chris said she first complained about the state of the bins to a councillor five years ago, and has also reported it to Gwynedd Council three times previously. Despite this, the situation has continued to escalate.
Her own bins, she said, had been emptied just three times in six weeks.
A Gwynedd Council spokesperson said: “Due to the narrowness of parts of this location, it has been difficult on occasions for the regular recycling vehicle to travel all along the street. We have now reviewed our arrangements and have ensured that a smaller recycling collection vehicle is being used in this area. We hope this new arrangement will resolve the matter.”
