Madam,
Congratulations to all the many people who worked so hard to ensure the 150th anniversary of the Cambrian Coast Line was such a success.
Having a locomotive-hauled special on the actual anniversary day was a great boost the line. It took much organising by the four railway authorities involved to bring this about because of the constraints under which the line is now operated.
It was pleasing to see the efforts of the local schoolchildren displayed in the Dragon Theatre. It is on them the future of the line will depend.
Trevor Roberts gave an entertaining talk and slide show to a packed out audience on the history of the bridge.
Belated thanks to all the Welsh people who fought two TUCC closure enquiries and, in November 1972, travelled by special train from Pwllheli to London to march down to Downing Street in order to save the line from closure.
Yours etc,
Chris Magner, Dunval, Bridgnorth.
