A support group has been set up to offer help to people in Lampeter who are in self isolation and can’t get essential supplies.
The Lampeter Coronavirus Support Group covers the town and surrounding area and is aiming to reach out to people who are not on social media and require help with shopping, medicine collection, dog walking or other essential tasks.
One of the organisers, town councillor Dinah Mullholland, said: “We are also looking for volunteers who would like to help out and provide support, and we are also looking for information from those businesses providing essential services.”
The phone numbers to contact to request support, to volunteer, or to provide information are 07799 884835 or 01570 423107.
People can also join the Lampeter Coronavirus Support/Cefnogaeth Cymunedol Coronafeirws Llambed Facebook group, which already has over 500 members, by clicking here.
There are also links on that page for people to request help, offer to volunteer or to provide business information.
Cllr Mullholland added: “In the last few days we have registered over 40 volunteers and have been contacted by people in other areas of Wales, and even in London, to arrange shopping for elderly and vulnerable parents living in Lampeter.
“The foodbank in Lampeter has also had some incredibly generous donations from businesses and residents in the town. Lampeter is an amazing community.”
