Ceredigion County Council chiefs have apologised after one of their vehicles was photographed parked in a disabled bay at New Quay.
The snap was taken by a Cambrian News reader who bemoaned the limited numbers of such spaces at the resort.
“There are currently two advisory disabled parking bays at this location in New Quay, and as part of a wider review of parking restrictions across Ceredigion, the number of disabled parking bays at this location will be increased to three, traffic orders introduced and the markings provided during the spring of 2019,” said a council spokesperson.
“While undertaking their duties it may on occasion be necessary for the council’s operational teams to park in close proximity to where they are working, or to stop for a short period.
“When this is the case, as it was in this instance, efforts are made to minimise any impact on the general public, and the council apologises if as a result of the vehicle encroaching into the advisory disabled bay the space was not available for a short period of time.”
