Madam,

Cllr Annwen Hughes says that she has been reading the letters in the Cambrian News about the proposed Llanbedr bypass.

She objected to the fact that a correspondent accused her of not living in the village but then went on to say that her current address is in Talsarnau which surely was precisely the point the correspondent was making!

Of more concern, though, Cllr Hughes does not address any of the issues raised in the letters she refers to. These are the loss of passing trade to village businesses, the visual and aural destruction of this beautiful and peaceful part of the National Park, the increased risk of flooding in our village, the certain deaths and injuries that will be caused by the proposed bypass which Gwynedd Council themselves predict and the mistruths being pedalled by Gwynedd Council and Snowdonia Aerospace LLP about the number of jobs at the airfield.

Come on Cllr Hughes – open your eyes.
