A Borth drug driver caught in Aberystwyth has been banned from the road for 15 months by magistrates.

Ceri Evans, of Charda, Clarach Road, appeared for sentencing before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on 22 July.

Evans had pleaded guilty to a drug driving charge at an earlier hearing in front of Aberystwyth magistrates in July.

The court heard that the 45-year-old was stopped by police while driving a Vauxhall Corsa on Northgate Street in Aberystwyth on 28 April this year.

Roadside wipes and later laboratory testing showed that Evans’ blood had cocaine in it exceeding the specified limit.

Magistrates disqualified Evans from driving for 15 months.

Evans was also handed a fined of £120.

No order was made for costs.
