A Pencader woman who failed to provide a specimen of blood to police has been banned from the road by magistrates for 17 months.

Lisa Thurgood, of 80 Maescader, appeared before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on 30 July.

The 47-year-old pleaded guilty to a charge of failing to provide a specimen of blood for analysis when suspected of having driven a vehicle and in the course of an investigation into whether she had committed an offence at Aberystwyth Police Station on 14 July.

Magistrates disqualified Thurgood from driving for 17 months and fined her £120.

She was also handed a community order to include up to 15 days of rehabilitation activities, and must pay £85 costs and a £114 surcharge.
