A BORTH man has been fined after being found guilty of using threatening or abusive behaviour and obstructing a police officer following a trial in Aberystwyth.
Philip Turner-Wright, of Bryndderwen, Dol Y Bont, pleaded not guilty at a hearing back in August 2021 to two charges of obstructing Pc MacNamara and of using abusive or threatening words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress during an incident in Borth on Sunday, 18 July last year.
The 71-year-old appeared before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 13 January for trial.
He was found guilty of both charges.
Turner-Wright was fined a total of £240 by magistrates, £120 for each offence.
He must also pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £200 as well as a surcharge to fund victim services of £34.
