A Cardigan man has been held in custody charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Michael Williams, of Flat 2, Merchant House, Queen’s Terrace, appeared before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on 19 August.

The 36-year-old is charged with causing grievous bodily harm to Luke Griffiths with intent in Cardigan on 17 August.

No plea was entered to the charge at the hearing.

Williams is next due to appear before Swansea Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on 18 September.

He was remanded in custody by magistrates until that date.
