A Ceredigion man who admitted assaulting and harassing a woman has been handed an alcohol ban by magistrates

Andrew Jones, of Bryn Cottage, Cefn Bryn Farm, Dolgwm, Cwmann appeared for sentencing before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on 23 September.

The 59-year-old pleaded guilty at a hearing in August to the harassment of a woman in West Sussex by sending her a number of text messages, making demands of the return of her jewellery and making financial demands.

He also admitted assaulting the woman on 20 January this year.

Jones was handed a community order to include 90 day alcohol abstinence and monitoring.

He was also given a restraining order and must pay £85 costs and a £114 surcharge.
