AN ABERYSTWYTH man has been fined and made the subject of a community order after admitting a string of offences including assault and racially aggravated threatening behaviour.
Luke Eira, of Room 9, Aberglasney, Marine Terrace, appeared before Haverfordwest magistrates on 7 February.
The 27-year-old pleaded guilty to two counts of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour in Aberystwyth on 5 February, including one that was racially aggravated, and one count of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour in Aberystwyth on 13 January.
He also admitted the assault by beating of Kerry Jones in Aberystwyth on 13 January.
Eira, the court heard, was found drunk and under the influence of drugs in a public place and “shouting and swearing” in Aberystwyth during the incident on 5 February.
The offences on 5 February, the court heard, breached a community protection notice that Eira was subject to.
He pleaded guilty to breaching the order.
Magistrates fined Eira £80 for the racially aggravated behaviour charge and £120 for the assault.
He was also made the subject of a 12-month community order to include 10 days of rehabilitation activities.
No separate penalties were imposed by magistrates for the other offences, and Eira was also ordered to pay £200 compensation to the assault victim.
He must also pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85 as well as a surcharge to fund victim services of £95.
