Law-makers in Ceredigion are appealing for your views on gambling as the as the current policy comes up for renewal.

Ceredigion County Council is currently reviewing its Gambling Policy which was last considered in January 2019 and is due for renewal.

The council is seeking the views of local residents, businesses, interested groups, relevant organisations, existing licence holders and their representatives on the new policy which covers betting, gaming, casinos, lotteries and bingo.

Cllr Gareth Lloyd, who is the cabinet member with responsibility for public protection services said: “This consultation is an opportunity for both residents and businesses to express their views on the Gambling Policy.

“We encourage constructive feedback so that amendments or changes can be made where appropriate. Ceredigion prides itself as a network of communities that can communicate and join together in tackling issues.

“I wish to highlight that you should get in contact with the council if there are gambling-related problems in your area; if you feel that access to gambling by vulnerable persons in your area is a problem or if you consider that access to gambling by children or young people in your area is a problem.”

Following the consultation, a report will be completed and considered by the cabinet of Ceredigion County Council and then to the members of the full council.

The consultation will close on 18 November. You can have your say and read about the policy at https://www.ceredigion.gov.uk/your-council/consultations/gambling-policy-review-2021/
