A Lampeter man who drove with drugs in his system without a licence and uninsured will be sentenced in October.

Stephen Butler, of 13 Station Terrace, appeared before Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on 28 September.

The 47-year-old pleaded guilty to drug driving on Peterwell Terrace in Lampeter on 16 January this year.

The court heard that testing showed Butler had both cannabis and benzoylecgonine – the major metabolite of cocaine – in his system exceeding the specified limit.

Checks showed Butler was driving without a valid licence and was uninsured.

Magistrates adjourned the case for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.

Butler will be sentenced at Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on 21 October.

He was handed an interim disqualification until sentencing.
