A WOMAN has been put under massive strain after being harassed by her ex-boyfriend from Felinfach following the break-up of their relationship, a court heard
Dorian Williams, 40, admitted harassing Jacqueline Lewis after making repeated phone calls, sending strings of text messages, sending her flowers and beeping his car horn as he drove past her house over a period between 7 January and 2 May.
Ellie Morgan, prosecuting, said Ms Lewis had told Williams that their relationship was over, but that he had continued to call and message her leading to police issuing a notice ordering him to leave her alone in January.
Despite that, Williams continued to contact Ms Lewis, forcing her to change her phone number four times with Williams somehow getting her new number each time, Aberystwyth magistrates heard.
During the five-month period, Ms Morgan said Williams continued to go to Ms Lewis’s home and claimed to the police that he hadn’t understood what the notice entailed.
While police officers explained that Williams, of 18 Bryn Salem in Felinfach, should stay away from Ms Lewis and not try to contact her, he continued contacting her, even driving past her home and beeping his horn at one point.
In March, Ms Lewis returned to her home and found that flowers had been delivered from Williams wishing her a happy birthday.
Ms Morgan said that the harassment had been stressful for Ms Lewis and had been “upsetting her greatly”.
She told magistrates that she would be applying for a restraining order to ensure Williams kept away from Ms Lewis.
Defence solicitor Janem Jones said she would not be opposing a restraining order, but said she expected magistrates would want a pre-sentence report.
Williams was released on conditional bail until a sentencing hearing on 29 June.
