A Welshpool man has appeared in court charged with racially aggravated harassment in Machynlleth.

Phillip Wigg, of 23 Leighton Court, appeared before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on 21 October.

The 61-year-old is charged with the racially aggravated harassment of Piyada Paylor in Machynlleth on 22 December last year.

No plea was entered at the hearing.

Wigg is next due to appear for a plea and trial preparation hearing at Swansea Crown Court on 20 November.

He was remanded on conditional bail until that date.
