A musical duo have released a music video shot and recorded in the Dyfi valley near Machynlleth.

The storyline of ‘I’m so Afraid of My Paranoia’ is based on the fears of an unfortunate man who believes the world coming to an end whilst in therapy.

It was recorded at Stwdio Bing in Cemmaes and shot in the grounds at Dolguog Hotel, Machynlleth by local vocalist Gruber Mann Sings, who said: "It was so nice to use these resources right on our doorstep to make a fun almost punky sound reminiscent of the 1980s. The Dyfi valley is a great place to make music.”

The film’s director Tina Bragaglia, who also stars as a dis-enchanted psychiatrist character, added: “There is a wonderful sense of creative freedom here in mid-Wales and we are already planning our venture.”

The film was shot and edited by the Machynlleth videographer Julian West, and the song features Emily Farr on guitar.

“With the poignancy of the lyrics I thought the song needed satirical visuals to lift it and I hope that’s what we achieved,” said Tina.

“It was brilliant to work with such a talented team.

“We filmed the video this summer and we chose the Dyfi Valley because it gave us a stunning backdrop of the Welsh landscape in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

“The hotel provided the further charismatic, slightly ethereal atmosphere we wanted for the film.

“Gruber Mann Sings is an emerging talent on the local music scene with a growing presence on YouTube. He has released several music videos on his YouTube music channel, all shot locally. He performs live regularly at events and stages around the region.”

This was Tina’s directorial debut, although she has previously written a film about J.R.R. Tolkien, and has further projects planned with Gruber Mann.
