A man accused of stalking a woman in Eglwysfach and Bristol over an 18 month period has been held in custody by magistrates.

Peter Messenger, of 105 Cyfyng Road, Ystalyfera, Neath Port Talbot, appeared before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on 23 September.

The 63-year-old is charged with the stalking involving serious alarm or distress of a woman over an 18 month period between 2 February 2025 and 16 September this year in Eglwysfach, Ceredigion and Bristol.

No plea was entered to the charge at the hearing.

Messenger is next due to appear before Swansea Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on 23 October.

He was remanded in custody by magistrates until that hearing date.
