An Aberystwyth man who took pictures of women without consent will appear in Swansea Crown Court in custody after admitting breaching a sexual harm prevention order.

Richard Pearson, 33, pleaded guilty to four charges of breaching the sexual harm prevention order by taking pictures of unknown women over a three-month period, as well as deleting images and films from a mobile phone without consent of authorities, downloading a software app and acquiring a credit card without notifying authorities.

Pearson, of 38 Portland Road, was made subject to the sexual harm prevention order on 22 March in Swansea Crown Court, but Llanelli magistrates heard that he breached several clauses of the order.

Between 2 August and 23 October, Pearson took photos of women without their consent, something which he was banned from doing under the order.

On 22 October he also deleted 623 photos and 275 videos from a mobile phone without the consent of authorities, while he also installed a peer-to-peer software application on a phone from 22 March in contravention of the order.

Pearson also admitted acquiring a credit card between 1 January 2008 and 24 October 2018 without notifying authorities that the card was his, something he was required to do under the terms of the order.

All offences took place in Aberystwyth, magistrates heard.

Magistrates remanded Pearson in custody until a sentencing hearing at Swansea Crown Court on 23 November.
