A Lampeter man trapped by paedophile hunters has admitted attempting to have sexual intercourse with a girl aged under 16.

Peter Kundrak, 26, appeared at Swansea Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing before judge Keith Thomas.

Kundrak, of New Street, admitted attempting to entice an underage girl to engage in sexual intercourse between 29 July and 21 October 2018.

Dyfed Thomas, the barrister defending Kundrak, said the “girl pretending to be Amber” had never existed.

However, Kundrak appreciated that it was a serious offence and that the court would be considering a sentence of immediate imprisonment.

Judge Thomas agreed to sentence Kundrak on 21 December and instructed a probation officer to prepare a report into his background.

Kundrak was remanded in custody meanwhile. Kundrak was arrested after being named by online paedophile-hunting group Confronted and Caught.

Police at the time said they recognised the strength of feeling people had about the allegations but urged people not to take matters into their own hands.
