A MAN accused Plaid Cymru staff of being paedophiles after a “red mist” descended on him when he read about the arrest of AM Simon Thomas for making indecent images, a court heard.
Mark Robert Bolderston, 56, (pictured) pleaded guilty to sending three offensive e-mails to MP Ben Lake through the Plaid Cymru office in Pier Street on 25 July.
Prosecutor Helen Tench said Bolderston had repeatedly called party members paedophiles and also referred to Mr Lake as a “one hit wonder” who wouldn’t get re-elected.
Ms Tench said Bolderston, who stood as an independent candidate for Ceredigion County Council in the last council elections, had first phoned the Plaid Cymru office saying: “So do you like paedophiles?”
Staff hung up the phone and got the number that had made the call, but Bolderston, of 15 Cambrian Square in Llanbadarn Road, had also sent three e-mails to the office accusing members of the party of being paedophiles and making other comments including “you can stick your Welsh up your a***”.
Police arrested Bolderston and in an interview he claimed he “saw the red mist” after reading a report about the arrest of former Plaid Cymru Mid and West Wales AM Simon Thomas. He apologised for what he had said.
