A Pencader drink driver has been banned from the road for 20 months.

Alexandra Essery, of Dinas Villa, Windy Corner, appeared for sentencing before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on 28 October.

The court heard that the 44-year-old was stopped while driving on an unclassified road between the B4336 and B4459 at Llanfihangel yr Arth on 8 September.

Tests showed Essery had 86 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Magistrates disqualified Essery from driving for 20 months and handed her a fine of £120.

She must also pay £85 costs and a surcharge of £114.
