A Penegoes man has been sent back to jail for seven days after admitting breaching a supervision order on release from prison.

Barrie Wilks, of 2 Craig Yr Henffordd, appeared before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on 13 August.

The 41-year-old admitted a charge of failing without reasonable excuse to comply with the supervision requirements imposed following release from a period of imprisonment by failing to attend a planned appointment on 5 February.

The court heard that the offence was “so serious” because it was a “deliberate breach” and there was “no attempt to engage with probation.”

Magistrates jailed Wilks for seven days.
