A Ponterwyd teenager caught driving while using a mobile phone has been fined by magistrates.

Llanelli Magistrates’ Court heard on 23 September that Henry John Michell, of Green Villa, was spotted driving a Ford Fiesta on Antaron Avenue, Aberystwyth while using a mobile phone on 29 January this year.

The 18-year-old admitted the charge and was handed a £200 fine and given six penalty points on his driving licence.

He must also pay costs of £130 and an £80 surcharge.
