A Cardigan man has been fined and handed a community order after admitting a sexual assault.

Matthew Phillips pleaded guilty to the intentional sexual touching of a woman in the Saddlers pub in Cardigan on 20 November when he appeared before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on 8 November.

The 36-year-old was fined £600 and handed a community order to include rehabilitation.

He was also given a restraining order and must pay costs and a surcharge.
