A Pwllheli man has been jailed following a violent attack which sparked a three-hour siege.

Benjamin Evans, 23, of Bro Cynan, attacked Ronald Simmons with a large knife during the incident on 23 March this year.

Armed police responded to the incident and found Evans later that day hiding under a bed in one of the flats.

He was jailed for 18 months by Judge Huw Rees at Caernarfon Crown Court after admitting charges of unlawfully wounding Mr Simmons and having a bladed or pointed article.

Jailing Evans, Judge Rees said: “You pose a significant risk to other people.

“If you continue to offend you will attract longer and longer sentences.”
