A WAUNFAWR motorcyclist who sped at 50mph through a 30mph zone in Ponterwyd has been fined by magistrates.

Simon John Nevett, of Sunny Bank, Cwmpadarn, rode a Yamaha FJR at 50mph on the 30mph limit A44 through the village on 9 July last year, Llanelli magistrates heard on 17 January.

The 60-year-old was fined £182 and had his driving licence endorsed with six penalty points.

Nevett must also pay prosecution costs of £90 as well as a surcharge to fund victim services of £72.
