A FURIOUS New Quay rugby fan has warned punters not to buy tickets from unregistered agencies, after claiming his 15-year-old daughter was “ripped off” ahead of tomorrow's Wales vs Ireland Six Nations match.

Stephanie Szpadt bought her dad Pete two tickets with a face value of £85 each from the website Viagogo as a surprise 50th birthday present.

But the horrified teenager – who had saved up for the tickets with her own hard-earned money - ended up being charged a total of £356.87, including booking fees, VAT and delivery.

Now an angry Pete is warning fellow rugby supporters not to make the same mistake ahead of this weekend’s eagerly-awaited Cardiff clash.

“Stephanie’s still at school in Aberaeron, but she had a part-time job at The Mariners and paid for those tickets herself, God bless her,” Pete, a well-known local taxi man who runs Pete’s Cabs, told the Cambrian News.

“I’m a keen sportsman who really likes a game of rugby and it was such a nice, thoughtful thing to do.

“But when I found out how much she was eventually charged I just couldn’t believe it – I was absolutely tamping.

“She was charged £129.36 for each ticket along with a booking fee of £73.50, VAT of £14.70 and delivery of £9.95. The tickets had a different name – Mr A Anderson - on the front."
