A Morfa Nefyn man who took on a daredevil wing walk despite having never flown in a plane before, has raised over £550 for charity.
John Jackson, 72, took on the challenge on 12 September to raise money for Pwllheli’s Canolfan Felin Fach. Last week, John and his wife Jenny presented a cheque to the centre for £556.
The Pwllheli-based community mental health centre relies on funding to support adults who are experiencing or recovering from difficulties in their lives, providing a comprehensive information base and drop-in support services.
John said: “My wife is disabled and she has benefitted greatly from attending the centre. The last few months have been challenging for us all and demands on our community mental health resources may continue to increase in the future.
“Those experiencing mental health problems directly, or supporting a loved one through a difficult time, face daily challenges and know only too well how valuable community support is.”
