A JUNIOR Football Club has scored two new grants.
Bala Junior Football Club’s under-7s team is going from strength to strength after securing new goals, footballs and training bibs this season thanks to two separate grants from the Magnox socio-economic scheme and Grwp Cynefin’s Community Grants Scheme.
The new equipment allows the team to play regularly on Sundays in the Wrexham and District Youth Football League and has over 20 children regularly attending training on Thursday evenings.
Chairman of Bala Junior Football Club, Dave Thorp said: “It’s fantastic that we’ve been able to introduce an under-7s team this season.
“We’re extremely grateful to both Magnox and Grwp Cynefin for supporting us and making sure the youngsters in the area get the opportunity to take part in the 2018/19 season.
“I’m sure the youngsters’ football will progress hugely with this fantastic new equipment.”
Trawsfynydd site closure director Ed Selden said: “Magnox is committed to being a good neighbour to the community in which it operates through the Magnox socio-economic scheme.
“We are delighted to support young children from Bala with new football equipment.”
Mair Edwards, community initiatives manager at Grwp Cynefin said: “Our slogan is ‘More Than Housing’, because it’s important to us that the communities we operate in thrive.
“By offering our support through our community grant scheme to a wide range of voluntary organisations and clubs, we help to support different opportunities and activities in these communities.”
Bala Juniors Football Club has over 100 members signed up between the under-7s, under-9s, under-11s, under-13s and under-15s teams.
