"DISCOLOURED" drinking water is affecting residents in Dolgellau and the surrounding areas.

The problem was reported to Welsh Water late this morning, and they have sent a team out to try to resolve the issue.

The matter is expected to be resolved later this afternoon.

A spokesperson for the water agency said: "Discoloured water has affected drinking water supplies this morning to customers in the Dolgellau area.

"When the water supply is restored later today, some customers may notice some discolouration of their tap water. This is normal in this situation and the water should clear when run from a cold tap.

"We apologise for the inconvenience caused."
