Madam,
Gwynedd Council are being disingenuous to say the least in claiming that they have consulted widely and listened to what the community wants as regards the proposed Llanbedr bypass.
Llanbedr Community Council, for example, has been in contact with Gwynedd Council since the scheme was first proposed three years ago and has asked for the scheme to include various measures to reduce noise and to protect businesses in the village from loss of trade, additional footpaths and car parking, and redesign of the proposed junctions; we all recall what happened in Dolgellau when their bypass was redesigned in 2014 – numerous accidents including fatalities. We do not want this to happen here. Guess what – Gwynedd Council have not included a single suggestion made by Llanbedr Community Council in their plans.
This is the wrong road in the wrong place. It will be bad for the environment, bad for the village and bad for the taxpayer.
Yours etc,
Robin Ward, Llanbedr.
