A Bronglais Hospital doctor is using music to reinforce government messages and to educate the public about coronavirus.
Dr Irwin Skeete, a community paediatrician at the Aberystwyth hospital, uploaded the catchy Calypso song to YouTube on Saturday, to raise awareness of the infectious nature of coronavirus, but also to encourage people to self-isolate and practice social distancing.
You can watch Dr Skeete's video below.
The message that runs throughout the song is: “Don’t hesitate, you’ve got to self-isolate, coronavirus is so infectious.”
The song was released just days before the UK Government put the country under virtual lockdown, on Monday.
But Dr Skeete takes it upon himself to encourage people to self-isolate, but “it you have to be out and about, you better keep social distance”.
The issue of people “shopping like crazy” and stockpiling is addressed, but also the “panic” that has descended on society.
He also reiterates advice to protect vulnerable people in society, such as the elderly.
As a message to us all in such uncertain times, Dr Skeete finished the song with: “We can get through this together, by looking out for one another.
“So don’t hesitate, helping your neighbour will be great. Coronavirus is so infectious.”
