Women’s Fellowship
A PRESENTATION was given by Maurice Ainscough at the meeting on Monday, 16 November.
Always a welcome guest, she demonstrated the construction of four beautiful flower arrangements. She showed how, with the skilful use of foliage, members could use the minimum of flowers to maximum effect and to create stunning arrangements. Members learn that this is very useful at this time of year when flowers are so expensive. It is always amazing to watch her skill; she works away whilst enter-taining her audience with snippets of interesting information. She created four lovely arrangements which were raffled at the end of the presentation. Margo, Caerwen, Bethan and Wendy were the lucky winners.Caerwen gave the vote of thanks.Members thanked Maurice for an informative and entertaining presentation and everyone said they were looking forward to having a go at making one of Maurice’s lovely creations over the Christmas period. Members also said they are looking forward to seeing her again soon.A total of 13 members attended the meeting. Lillian was the winner of the raffle.Jessie thanked everyone who helped with the coffee morning, at which the fellowship made £206 – an excellent amount considering the stormy weather. The next meeting is the Christmas dinner when members will meet at 6.30pm for a 7pm start at the Sosban. She also reminded members that the meeting following the dinner is a session of carol singing at Cefn Rodyn, meeting at 6.30pm.The fellowship’s new cookery book is now in print and available to buy from the back of the church. Anyone purchasing the book is asked to put the money in the wall safe behind the font.
