5k ‘parkrun’

DOLGELLAU’S popular weekly ‘parkrun’ around the Marian took on a different twist last Saturday morning when a wedding party swapped suits for shorts and bucks fizz for a 5km run along the Morfa Mawddach Trail.Clare Jones and Tom Murray, plus 25 guests decided to do something a little different before their wedding service at Our Lady of Seven Sorrows Church that afternoon. Clare who is a kidney specialist and Tom a civil engineer are both working in Toronto on two-year posts.The bride and groom met at college in Wrexham and have both been visiting the Meirionnydd area since childhood.

Said Tom’s father Charles, himself a runner: “What better way to get the heart pumping and the circulation going before a wedding, although I think there were one or two nodding off in the service.”
