A TOWN councillor is wondering who will get their wall first, US president Donald Trump or Dolgellau.
Cllr John Raghoobar updated Dolgellau Town Council earlier this month regarding the town’s park where he volunteers regularly.
In 2014/15 Natural Resources Wales spent over £5.5m improving Dolgellau’s flood risk management scheme, including improving and enlarging the wall that runs adjacent to Dolgellau Park.
There have been difficulties getting the wall finished to the expected standard, with the NRW offering to mow the grass in the park as recompense for the delayed work.
However, the problem has still not been resolved.
“I’ve spent a lot of time in the park over the Christmas holidays, enjoying the Christmas Lights which were very fine,” he said.
“The wall is still an issue - I’m beginning to wonder who will get their wall first, Trump or Dolgellau?
“It’s been four years and it’s still a pain in the backside, but I’ll keep pushing the matter with them.”
Cllr Raghoobar was referencing the infamous border wall with Mexico, which is expected to cost $5billion and currently is causing the United States government to lockdown.
The Dolgellau councillor also mentioned that the NRW may stop providing mowing services for the park, which is currently ran by volunteers.
