Staff at a Llyn pub have raised nearly £3,000 for charity by taking part in a dragon boat challenge.

Staff from the Ship Inn in Edern, along with a few family and friends, have presented a cheque for £2,918.17 to the St David’s Hospice.

A group of 22 took part for the second year in succession in the annual St David’s Dragon Boat Challenge in Llanberis on Saturday, 26 June and raised the money in memory of the late Val Jones of Nefyn.

Ffion Jones a chef at the Ship Inn, and daughter to the late Val Jones, along with her father, Val’s husband Albi who also works in the kitchen at the Ship, organised the team representing the Ship Inn and are very grateful to each of the team members for once again participating in the Dragon Boat Challenge and also grateful to everybody who kindly sponsored either the individuals or the whole team.
