A YOUNG Dutch couple have made a desperate plea for the return of the camera they lost whilst hiking on the coast path between Aberporth and Mwnt.
Laura Kraak and her boyfriend Rene Kuhlmann are hoping the camera can be returned, as it contains their holiday snaps along with photos taken in New York.
“We were enjoying the beautiful landscape Wales has to offer,” Laura, 26, told the Cambrian News. “Somewhere on this track I lost my camera and the blue Esprit case of my glasses.
“I would really like to get my camera back because there are a lot of holiday pictures on it.
“Well, in fact I don’t even care about the camera, I just want the card that’s inside it.”
Despite reporting the loss to Dyfed-Powys Police, Laura has not heard anything back.
“I think the camera fell out of my rucksack when René was grabbing for something deep inside - my hat or water,” she said.
“Because the camera is so small and it’s in a black case it’s easy to miss when it falls out. But then it’s even more stupid we didn’t notice the clear blue glasses case falling out.
“The blue, Sony compact camera is in a soft black case.
“I certainly had it after we passed the army building 10 minutes after Aberporth. We had to cross a field with cows, and as soon as we reached the cliffs I remember taking a picture of flowers with the sea on the background.
“That is the last marking point of having the camera.
“People in Wales were just so nice to us the three weeks we’ve been there, I cannot imagine someone finding the camera and keeping it.”
If someone finds the camera, they can contact Laura’s friend, Sharon Henshall, who lives near Newcastle Emlyn, on 01559 371597.
