The Dyffryn Elves are getting ready for their fifth year distributing hampers throughout Dyffryn Ardudwy and Talybont.

Last year 94 hampers were delivered from North Wales Police and Huws Gray.

All were funded by the generosity of the local community and businesses.

The hampers are given to people, friends and neighbours nominated by the community as having sadly lost a loved one this year, suffering/diagnosed an illness, been very kind to others or maybe just in need of a bit of love and support. Christmas is not always a time of joy and celebrations, but it is a time the elves feel they can help bring a smile and a piece of happiness knowing their community cares.

The hampers are full of Welsh produce, special treats, donated gifts and a Christmas Card from Ysgol Gynradd Dyffryn Ardudwy.

As each year passes this wonderful gifting seems to grow so Father Christmas wants people continue to support it.

Every year the elves wait for the community to nominate a friend or neighbour who lives in Dyffryn Ardudwy and Talybont to receive a hamper as a result of bereavement, diagnosis of illness, just struggling, alone with no family - someone who needs to know the community cares. All nominators remain anonymous.

To date, 264 Hampers have been given in the last five years, meaning over 200 people have felt the love and kindness delivered with each hamper.

Donation tins will also be at One Stop, Spar, Ardudwy Hand Car Wash and other venues in Dyffryn Ardudwy from the end of September.
