A MODEL from Tregaron is helping create a new image for builders.

In Ffasiwn Bildar, a new S4C series starting on 10 March, Dylan Garner goes on a nationwide search to try to transform the image of Welsh construction workers.

“The unfortunate image builders have gained over the years, like builder’s bum and their drinking - is a bit old-fashioned nowadays.

“If you go to building sites these days you’ll see that the boys look after their bodies. And instead of going to the pub on Fridays after work they now go to the gym. Things have definitely changed,” said Dylan, who lives in London, but is originally from Tregaron.

During this series, Dylan goes on a quest to find a perfect role model within the building industry.

Fourteen builders will compete in various building and modelling challenges and the overall winner will receive a cash prize of £3,500.

In the first episode the builders consruct and set up a catwalk, and learn to walk on it.

They’ll also get a chance to model for Dickies clothing shop and appear on the front page of Professional Builder magazine.
