A MOTORCYCLING group has helped raise over £1,300 for a Tywyn preschool.

Just before Christmas, a charity fundraising evening was held for the Margaret Barnard Pre School by the Cambrian Coast Riders Club, an origination for motorbike enthusiasts, in the Victorian Slipway pub.

Live music, provided by Jenny Stevens and her band, as well as a prize draw, charity auction and raffle on the night generated a whopping £1,338.

A spokesperson for the club said: “[We] would like to thank the Victorian Slipway for providing the venue and live music. Thanks also to Chrissi Penny for arranging the advertising, administration and liaising with the local businesses for raffle prizes which ranged from a tattoo session to free MOTs for motorbikes.

“Not forgetting all the local businesses and club members who donated prizes for the raffle.

“The club was started in August for motorcyclists to meet on a regular basis, go out on bike rides and to help the local community.

“There are now over 120 members and the club meets once a month at the Victorian Slipway and has its own Facebook Group.”
