Primary school children in Gwynedd will move to online teaching from next Thursday.
The decision comes as cases of coronavirus increase across Wales.
Education minister Kirsty Williams announced yesterday that secondary schools and colleges in Wales will be closed next week, to help stop the spread of coronavirus, but primary schools were not included in that announcement.
However, Gwynedd Council has decided to close those schools early as well.
A Gwynedd Council Spokesperson said: “Primary and special schools in Gwynedd will close to pupils on Wednesday afternoon, 16 December and will move to distance learning for Thursday and Friday. Staff will continue to work as usual on the Thursday and Friday.”
