YSGOL Bro Pedr in Lampeter has received the best inspector’s report for a 3-to-19 years school in Wales to date.

Following its recent inspection by ESTYN, the inspectorate body for schools and colleges in Wales, the school was awarded a ‘good’ rating for current performance and future prospects.

Since it became an ‘all through’ school, catering for pupils from nursery/reception age to sixth-form in September 2012, ESTYN has reported ‘strong performance’ and ‘high expectation levels’.

Headteacher Jane Wyn said: “The successful ESTYN report is testimony to the hard work of the pupils, staff and the support of the parents, governors and community. We are really pleased that we have been rated ‘Good’ across all the key areas.

“Working as an all-through school has enabled us to ensure that every pupil has a smoother transition from primary to secondary.

We are focused now on building on these strong foundations, to ensure that the school goes from strength to strength.”
