AN ABERYSTWYTH secondary school will be closed tomorrow because of an electrical fault.

In a statement this evening, Ysgol Penglais headteacher Mair Hughes said: "Unfortunately, an electrical fault which happened after school today has resulted in the school being without electricity or heating. Scottish Power have assessed the situation and have advised us that it cannot be rectified before tomorrow.

"Therefore the school will have to be closed on Friday, 1 December. We are hopeful that Scottish Power will resolve the issue over the weekend and that the school will be able to open on Monday.

"We will update messages on Sunday to confirm that school will be open Monday.

"We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and will keep you informed."
