WORLD-renowned beatboxer and producer Ed Holden, otherwise known as Mr Phormula, visited Coleg Ceredigion’s two campuses to conduct beatboxing workshops with students.
The workshop, in Ed’s characteristically informal style, demonstrated many of the techniques which he uses to replicate various instruments using only his voice and a regular microphone.
Students were also encouraged to join in, some even agreeing to demonstrate their rapping skills with Ed providing the accompaniment.
At the Cardigan campus the workshops included general education and joinery department students whilst the Aberystwyth campus workshops featured students from childcare, creative arts and sciences, and performing arts.
The purpose of the workshops was to demonstrate how the Welsh language has been key to Ed’s success and how it has opened doors within the music industry.
