RESIDENTS are being invited to discuss plans which could see a section of a Snowdonia overhead power line buried near Penrhyndeudraeth.
Public information events will take place in the town to allow residents to help develop the plans which would see a section of the overhead line in the Snowdonia National Park removed and replaced with electric power lines buried underground.
The work is part of National Grid’s Visual Impact Provision (VIP) project, an initiative to reduce the visual impact of existing high voltage power lines in protected areas across England and Wales.
In November 2014, a section of power line near Penrhyndeudraeth was first identified by an independent study as having a major landscape and visual impact.
Local people can find out how the plans are shaping up and give feedback on Thursday, 14 July between 2pm – 8pm at the Snowdonia National Park Authority headquarters in Penrhyndeudraeth.
Another event will also be held on Saturday, 16 July, between 10am and 4pm at the Holy Trinity Church Hall, Church Place in Penrhyndeudraeth.
