THE actor who plays Emmerdale baddie Pierce Harris has helped a Morfa Bychan restaurant-owner raise £3,000 for a cancer charity.
Lorraine Lloyd-Roberts, who owns Y Sgwâr restaurant in Tremadog with husband David, wanted to “give something back” to her community and has orchestrated a series of fundraisers for Marie Curie.
The 47-year-old persuaded her friend and actor Jonathan Wrather – whose character Pierce Harris was recently jailed for rape in Emmerdale – to attend her recent charity night and auction off the prizes.
“I have had my business for 14 years and have always had such good support from the community, so thought it was time that I gave something back,” said Lorraine.
“I heard about a new Marie Curie fundraising group for Meirion and Dwyfor, based in Porthmadog, so decided to join as a volunteer,” said Lorraine.
“The charity supports people who are living with a terminal illness right across the Gwynedd area.
“I have had so many positive comments from friends, family and acquaintances about the cause that I know I have made the right decision to raise funds for them.”
The restaurant owner has already raised thousands of pounds in just a few weeks but has no intention of stopping anytime soon.
