A TV programme made at a music festival in Cardigan has been nominated for a BAFTA Cymru award.

‘Other Voices: Cardigan 2025’ with Huw Stephens has been nominated in the ‘Entertainment Programme’ category.

“On behalf of the producing partners South Wind Blows, Mwldan and Triongl, we are delighted to have received a BAFTA Cymru nomination for ‘Entertainment Programme’ for Other Voices: Cardigan 2025 with Huw Stephens,” a Mwldan spokesperson said.

“We also congratulate the brilliant Huw Stephens, who has long been the face of Other Voices Cardigan, for his nomination in the category of ‘Presenter’.

“These nominations are wonderful recognition of the success of this special Wales-Ireland event, and the quality of the programme and artists featured.

“Other Voices Cardigan is the biggest showcase of contemporary Irish artists in the UK, who play alongside Welsh and international acts as part of the autumn festival in the town of Aberteifi, West Wales.

“The programme featuring live performances and interviews was broadcast on BBC Cymru Wales and RTE Ireland, and is still available to view on BBC iPlayer.

Other Voices Cardigan 2025 was staged with the support and investment of Welsh Government and Government of Ireland, The Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, and The Department of Foreign Affairs’ Reconciliation Fund, and is produced by South Wind Blows in partnership with Mwldan and Triongl. This project was part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, supported by Ceredigion County Council.”

Earlier this year, Other Voice organisers said the festival will not take place in 2026.

They said: “Regrettably, this year’s Other Voices Cardigan will not take place due to a late and reduced funding decision. The late announcement has left the organisers with insufficient time to secure the alternative funding necessary for hosting an event of this scale.”
