A cafe in Ceredigion will celebrate local talent with a new exhibition and craft fair.

The work of community members will go on display in Cletwr in Tre’r-Ddol.

The Winter Craft Fair will take place next month, on Saturday, 7 November. The fair, which opens at 3.30pm and will remain open until 7pm, promises to offer a variety of craft work with something to please everyone.

At the same time visitors to Cletwr can see more local talent in the Cwtsh exhibition by Taliesin Art and Craft

Group, which celebrates 25 years of artists working together.

The group meets every Thursday between 10am and 12pm at the Llanfach in Tre Taliesin.

Everyone is welcome to join the group, whether they are a beginner or more expert.

Meanwhile the Cletwr café High Wall also shows community work from The Creative Dementia Support Group and Get Together Group which meet on Mondays at the Borth Community Hub.

They are facilitated by artist Martine Ormerod with the help of volunteers.

The groups allow older people and those with dementia to use creative skills in a social environment. Several members of the afternoon group say they get so much out of the time they spend there.

The panels on show at Cletwr started with individuals making pictures of buildings that they are familiar with, or more exotic ones, such as the Taj Mahal.

There was a feeling that houses often convey a sense of place and especially of home. These were combined to create the panels that show a mysterious, dusky landscape with deserted buildings and only birds to watch over them. The landscape refers to Cors Fochno, the bog area between Borth and Tre Taliesin.
