With their recent double single 'Neges yn y Tywod’ / ‘Y Bachgen Glân’ still ‘hot’, acclaimed group Pedair will open Dolgellau Music Club's 2026-27 season.

In the words of Lisa Gwilym (BBC Radio Cymru), the quartet present 'wonderful harmonies, touching interpretations and new music full of passion and emotion'. Any chance to enjoy the special talents of Gwenan Gibbard, Gwyneth Glyn, Meinir Gwilym and Siân James is eagerly awaited.

All four are adventurous international artists who thrive on collaborating and performing live. Together they breathe new life into traditional material, with new arrangements on harps, guitars, piano and accordion. Combining their unique talents as storyteller-singers, they draw their material from the bardic and oral tradition as well as folk. That blends naturally with their craft as accomplished songwriters, creating new songs that respond to the world as it is now, the resilience of nature, and the expression of a female perspective. All of this can be heard on their two CDs, Dadeni (2024) and Mae 'na Olau (2022). Recent foreign trips to Germany and Canada have met with jubilant responses.

The seven-concert Music Club season will continue on Friday, 30 October with a recital by Anusha Merrin (soprano) and Iwan Owen (piano); and on Friday, 4 December, by the brilliant young classical accordionist from Glasgow, Sofia Ros González.
